Eta Iota Educational Foundation Announces Spring 2026 Scholarship Recipients
The Eta Iota Chapter of Sigma Chi Educational Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of our Spring 2026 scholarships. These awards recognize brothers who exemplify the values of Sigma Chi through academic achievement, service, and commitment to the chapter and to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Eta Iota Military Recognition Scholarship — Charles Bellett
Charles Bellett — B.S. Aeronautics, graduated Spring 2026.
Established in 2016, the Military Recognition Scholarship recognizes and financially assists Eta Iota brothers who are current or former U.S. Armed Forces personnel or who have completed at least one year of ERAU's ROTC program.
Brother Bellett has been a dedicated member of Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 since his arrival at ERAU, earning a Meritorious Service Award and ranking in the top 5% of all AFROTC cadets at Field Training in 2024. He holds a Private Pilot and Instrument Rating and carried a 3.53 GPA while simultaneously serving as chapter Consul and as Project GO Coordinator — a DoD-funded language and cultural immersion program.
Charles held four chapter officer positions — Blue and Gold Chairman, Assistant Magister, Pro Consul, and Consul — and is a past recipient of the competitive Project GO Arabic language immersion scholarship, to which he later returned as program coordinator for his ROTC detachment.
Chuck Torrisi Memorial Scholarship — Bronson Bowman
Bronson Bowman — B.S. Aeronautical Science, minor in Airline Operations, graduating Class of 2026.
Created in remembrance of Brother Chuck Torrisi (Eta Iota, 1994), this scholarship recognizes brothers who demonstrate outstanding character, academic motivation, and commitment to the Eta Iota Chapter and to ERAU.
Brother Bowman is an accomplished aviator with a Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument rating and Tailwheel endorsement, and over 230 hours of flight time. He graduated high school summa cum laude with a 4.8 GPA and accumulated more than 270 hours of community service as president of the Lions Heart volunteer organization before arriving at ERAU.
As chapter Quaestor, Bronson keeps chapter finances and operations on track while contributing his construction experience to house projects, collaborating closely on risk management, and making one-on-one check-ins with his fellow executive members a personal priority — embodying exactly the kind of brotherhood Chuck Torrisi represented.
