What a Year It's Been!
Sigma Chi worked hard this past semester and is keeping a strong reputation in the Greek community — a great recruitment brought in a pledge class of 10, three men graduated, and White Rose, Thanksgiving, and White Elephant were all fantastic.

Meet the Graduates
Daniel "Billybob" Duquette (Gamma Lambda) graduated with a degree in Aeronautics, concentration in Aviation Maintenance Science. His plan as an alumnus: become a Life Loyal Sig, join the 1855 Club, and stay involved. "Every moment of time you can spend with your brothers is a blessing in itself, and not many other college students get to share that same common bond that holds us all Sigma Chi's so close."
Chuck "First Base" Kwon (Gamma Lambda) graduated with a 3.0 GPA in Aeronautics, having served as Quaestor. He's continuing his career in the U.S. Army.
Josh "Monthly Gift" Chancey (Gamma Nu) graduated with a degree in Air Traffic Management, having held Pro Consul, Quaestor, Risk Manager, House Manager, and Social Chair, attended Horizons and BLTW, served as IFC Vice President, and was named 2010 Greek New Member of the Year. He's now commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. (Thanks to Kirk Haun for help with this article!)
Meet the Chapter Advisor and Pro Consul Advisor
Derek Pizzo, Chapter Advisor: As Chapter Advisor, I chair the Advisory Board and appoint its members, working mostly with the Consul while the board works with the others. I switched from Aerospace Engineering to Air Traffic Management at Riddle, graduated in 2009 (Gamma Gamma), and now live in Tallahassee working at the Regional Airport, working toward Certified Professional Controller. My fondest chapter memory is winning Greek Week — we manipulated the rules and won fair and square, which also changed the rules for future generations. I'd love to see someone who lives closer to the chapter take over one day. Never stop learning — as soon as you think you have it figured out, someone else is already getting better.
Nick Weiss, Pro Consul Advisor: I worked last semester helping the Pro Consul identify chapter goals and increase officer accountability. I've spent the last year and a half at Honda as a Systems/Chassis Design Engineer in Columbus, OH — a tremendous early-career experience. I enjoy golf, backpacking, and traveling. My favorite memories are also Greek Week — setting aside differences to chase a common goal, testing everyone's leadership and planning skills. My advice to alumni: communicate — stop by, email an undergrad or advisor or House Corp member, share input and stories. My advice to undergrads: take your ideas for the chapter and make them real — every gap is an opportunity to build your own leadership, planning, and communication skills.
In Case You Missed It!
White Rose: At Reunion Resort in Orlando, brothers and alumni reunited for a great White Rose Formal, planned by Blake Ditlow. Maggie Micinski was announced as the new Sweetheart, with International Sweetheart Sydney Binnington also in attendance.
Thanksgiving: Sigma Chi hosted its now-traditional Thanksgiving feast for brothers who couldn't make it home — Pedro fried up three delicious turkeys, and everyone shared in the Sigma Chi Grace.
White Elephant: Another great tradition, with a roast beef and ham dinner ahead of the (infamous, thieving) gift exchange. Every brother received a personalized mini stocking with a candy cane and shot glass, marked with his pledge class, initiation number, and a white cross.
Introducing Your New Sweetheart!
My name is Maggie Micinski, and in November I was named the 2013 Sweetheart — I'm really excited! I'm an Aeronautical Science major with an ATC minor, recently installed as President of Theta Phi Alpha, and previously served as their Recruitment Chair. As Sweetheart, I hope to help strengthen the chapter and brotherhood, keep the Jordan Standard alive in every brother, and build an academic program the chapter can use semester to semester.
