Tom Alouf Enters Chapter Eternal

Tom Alouf, an Aeronautical Science major with the class of ’82, was initiated at Eta Iota on 01/17/81, passed away Saturday 10/23 after a battle with cancer.

Remembered as bigger than life, Tom embodied the spirit of youth, and will be dearly missed!

Tom’s wife Laurie, had asked that the chapter be informed.

Funeral Information

  • Viewing: Wed. 10/27, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. at the Funeral Home:
    Oakey’s South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24018
  • Funeral Mass: Thr. 10/28 at noon, with reception to follow.
    Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2505 Electric Road (Rt. 419), Roanoke, VA 24018

    It was a difficult day for us knowing that we were missing Tom’s funeral due to weather and load factors. We were so blessed to have been able to see Tom and Laurie several times in the last year when they came to Houston for Tom’s treatments. Little did we know how very precious those visits were to become. We look forward to sharing stories about Tom (I have many) at the birthday party in March where we can offer our support to Laurie in person. Tom lived a big life and at his expense we realize how short life is. Let’s all embrace our lives a little deeper in his memory.
